To enjoy French toast yet still keeping it healthy I substitute whole wheat bread for the traditional thick slices of white bread or brioche.
Ingredients:
- Whole wheat bread 4 slices
- 3 eggs
- 3 tbs milk
- Pinch of salt
- 2 tbs oil
Directions:
- In a large frying pan heat the oil on medium high heat
- Whisk together eggs, milk, and salt
- Dip slice of bread in the egg mixture
- Fry few minutes on each side until golden brown
- Serve with maple syrup
